This is an interview with this sites #1 fan. He visits the sites more often than anyone else, he is the one that starts the most discussions, and he has made THE MOST strips in the "Make your own strips" section here at Calvin and Hobbes - Resurrected.
So, who is this guy that likes Calvin and Hobbes so much? It's Adam McCaffery, of course. Born January 3rd 1988, he is a fourteen year old boy from Hamilton, Ontario in Canada. But let's get to know Adam a little better. He cannot be just a regular guy to come up with all those strips? Let's find out what it takes to be a "Bill Watterson".
Who else lives with you? (Parents? Siblings? Pets? Tigers?)
I live with my parents, Ed, and Patricia. Dad works at McMaster University, and Mom works at Prince Philip Elementary School on Fridays. I have 2 sisters, and 3 brothers. Mary is 10 years old, and is a student of Prince Philip. Hannah is 9 years old, and is also a student of Prince Philip. Another Prince Philip student is Jacob, one of my brothers, and he's 7 years old. Nathanael is 6 years old, and is yet another student of Prince Philip. The one brother who isn't a student of Prince Philip is my youngest brother, Seth. He is exactly 4 years of age, and goes to a preschool. I have a pet cat. A Bombay cat to be exact. And his name is Buster. He was born on the 31st of November. And, as a matter of fact, I have 3 stuffed tigers. Hobbes, Hobbes Jr., and Ronald.
What other hobbies besides Calvin and Hobbes do you have?
I like to surf the internet, and visit the offical Garfield website.
Who is your best friend?
Besides my Hobbes, my best friend from my high school is Michael Ayre. He's 14 years old, and likes CATS.
Is he a tiger?
No, Michael isn't a tiger. Obviously.
What is your favourite food? Tuna? Ice cream?
My favourite food is anything that's Reese.
How long have you been a Calvin and Hobbes Fan?
I have been a Calvin and Hobbes fan ever since I was 4 years old.
What is the main reason you like Calvin and Hobbes?
The main reason I like Calvin and Hobbes is that I can read the books all over again.
How long since you started reading Calvin and Hobbes sites on the net?
A few years after Bill Watterson retired. The year 2000 was when I started going to Calvin and Hobbes websites.
How many Calvin and Hobbes websites do you visit on a regular basis
I visit about 5 C&H websites, including this one!
Which one is your favourite?
Besides this site, my favourite site is The Calvin And Hobbes Resurrection.
Why do you like this particular site the best?
I like this site, because, there's a Calvinball Game Log where I can compete with other visitors of that site in a game of Calvinball.
How did you first hear about "Calvin and Hobbes - Resurrected"?
Well, in 2000, I went to Yahoo!, and typed in the search engine, "Calvin and Hobbes". That's when I saw the name, "Calvin and Hobbes - Resurrected". And that's when I decided to come here.
You have made a lot of Calvin and Hobbes strips yourself. Where do you get the ideas for all of them?
Well, most of the strips I make on Calvin and Hobbes - Resurrected were taken from most of my computer games. But, my latest strip, "Evil Calvin Returns!!", I hope that people will reply to that. See, that's another thing I don't like about life online. Nobody will reply to my strips.
Do you think you will become the next Bill Watterson?
I've always thought about that question. Well, I did do fan drawings of Calvin and Hobbes, so, if Watterson ever does return to work, then, I'll try to mail him, and tell him that I want to work with him in drawing certain strips.
If you could be one of the characters in Calvin and Hobbes, who would you be? And why?
If I could be any of the characters from Calvin and Hobbes, I could be the one and only Calvin himself. Because, I have his personality, and his "coolness".
And if you could decide one thing to be changed on Calvin and Hobbes - Resurrected, what would it be?
Well, if I could have one thing changed about Calvin and Hobbes - Resurrected, it would be Flash games, or better yet, Flash movies! Now, that would be cool!
Is there anything else you would like to say?
Yes, one thing more: for those of you who read this interview, please, try to remember the person who was the most active participant at Calvin and Hobbes - Resurrected. And, also, try to remember Bill Watterson when you read this.
