a REALLY awesome manga
befor I read this comic at ppg.snafu-comics.com,I hated the powerpuff girls.I'm not saying I like them now,I just like the way they're made into a manga. The point of this message is that I really think you folks should read this comic and see how funny it is to see all these old cartoon network cartoons be transformed into a comic.
-James.
(P.S-I know this has nothing to do with C&H,but this IS the forum section where you can write about any other cartoon you want...right?)

This is a four year old thread... but...
This has given me yet another spectacular idea! James said how funny it is to see the old Cartoon Network cartoons transformed into Manga. Well... I decided I should try it! And I think you can guess which one I'm doing...
Um, have they done an RJ Manga yet?

Don't bother.
Manga, by definition, is "any comic produced in Japan".
Are you in Japan?
No?
Then you cannot create manga.
(The linked webcomic isn't manga either. But they did, for the record, make an official anime about the Powerpuff Girls.)

Well... maybe not Manga then - but er... hang on, I can do 'Manga-style', can't I?

Manga is not a style.
Again, it's just any comic produced in Japan, and different authors and artists have their own distinct styles. It's stereotyping to claim that manga has one style.
Unless, of course, you mean you're going to make the comic read right-to-left with vertical text bubble and whatnot.

Ahh...
So hang on, how did it get into 'You Can Draw: Star Wars' then? What of those English 'How-To' books? I'm confused

They're terrible.
Oftentimes people who do "how to draw" books don't do their homework. I have one that's about how to draw manga. By an American author. Who apparently needs to shove in every stereotype about manga while doing minimal research. Artwork's ugly too.
There's no reason why you should by any of those books in the first place. They're not "how to draw" books, they're "how to trace over all these pictures" books. One of the most frustrating parts is that after you draw them, some books tell you to try drawing them in different poses. They give you no instruction on how to do this. Ever.
Sorry, I just hate "how to draw" books...
