Suggestions and wishes
Any suggestions to improvements should be posted here. The following should NOT be suggested because it is already in the works or it is NOT going to happen:
* More panels for the create-a-strip. I'm already working on it
* Games. Yup, I'm working on that, too
* A complete collection of the original Calvin and Hobbes strips. Ain't gonna happen. Buy the books!
* PTT And Movies to watch online by users are still coming
ON Fan art Area for you to download
Any other suggestions are welcome.

Suggestions
The site looks great, but the one thing that bthers me is the middle section sometimes being too big and Hobbes' head being rather low-resolution, but blown up to a bigger size. Looks Great!! Oh, and where's the links page??

The link section
The link section is one of the first things I'll put in there. I'll just have to figure out a clever way to incorporate it.

RE: Forum Posts
That would be a fine idea, Mike!!
Also could there just be a reply button on every entry?

The Pages open in too small a frame
I also noticed that most of the pages open in a frame that is only down half the page, and this results in scrolling within the frame, while it could just be spilled down the rest of the page.

Good suggestions, folks.
I already have a ton - no, make that TWO tons - of stuff on my to-do list. But I'll add whatever ideas you guys mention that I like. I know some parts of the design is a bit "off", and that's one of my top priorities. I don't have as much time as I'd like to right now, so by releasing the new design (perjhaps a bit prematurely) I'm forcing myself to shift time over to this. My wife and kids are not too happy about it, and I know I'm going to pay the price eventually.
First downpayment will be tomorrow morning when I wake up grumpy for having not enough sleep tonight. It's 2:30am, and I'm not done yet. Had some changes that I really had to make now before there are too many strips I'd manually have to move.
So, for a while I guess you'll have to live with a few quirks like edit buttons in other peoples posts (they shouldn't work if it's not your post), design being a little bit busted and probably a few things I haven't even discovered yet.
And one more thing: I noticed some people have voted that they don't like the new design. That's fine, I don't expect everybody to like it. I'd really appreciate it if you'd care to tell me WHY you don't like it so I might have the chance to fix it. Don't be afraid to tell me; you won't get banned or anything for not liking the design.

Cooool.
Well, aren't I late.
I must say, this is pretty awesome. But, I dunno...something about it makes it feel less distinctly Calvin and Hobbes...sort of the same feeling I had when I updated mine. The old one might have been too much like 1997, but you could definiately identify it as a Calvin and Hobbes site. Now, it just seems like a formal, regular everyday site. When I saw the title bar say "www.calvin-and-hobbes.org Digital Calvin and Hobbes", I thought it was attacked by spambots.
So, overall, it's pretty cool, but those are just my thoughts.
BTW, if this was the effect you were going for, I would have just used PHPNuke and phpBB.

More graphics
Hi, Kim!
Been a while, eh? I am looking to get some more C&H graphics stuffed in here to make it feel more like a C&H site. So far most of the work has been on the tech stuff behind the scene. I think I'll be putting some icons and stuff in the little boxes, and some more images in the articles.

Yay!
It's a lot better now! Just don't put too much, or the syndicate will get after you.
One weird thing is that because the picture of Hobbes is transparent, Hobbes turns blue under the freshest strip column.
And, this layout is *almost* the same shade as blue as my computer.

Of course I do!
I need to get a signature going on this forum. A separator between the post and the sig would be nice.

Yes!
Yep! I'm James Triberus really, but you must pretend not knowing and call me 'Bumper LEGO'.
Anyway, I was thinking that we could have an option to change our site looks so it looks either like now or the old Resurrected look...

GREAT JOB -- couple of minor compalints
Chris, I have to say that you must be the most dedicated C&H webmaster. I really appreciate your putting all of that work into making this such a great place to visit.
Just a couple of minor notes I thought I would tell you. I love all of the new graphics and they really do a great job of adding to the mood. I would remove the one on the main page of Hobbes getting ready to pounce, or better yet alighn it to the left as you did with the "welcome image" at the old site. As it looks now it's a bit awkward. I don't think you could've found a better image for the bottom of the welcome message though!! It's perfect. Just align the top one to the left and that should be great. Also, you made a typo on the word "from". As of right now it says "frmo". That's all I really have to complain about. Really minor little things.
I'm really looking forward to seeing all of the returning features like the links page and quiz and stuff, and I can't wait to see what new stuff you've got up your sleve. Don't overwork yourself though, I can take the suspense!

Alternate styles on the site
That would be a very cool idea, yes, but I'll tell you right away: The CSS on this site is already so complex I don't think I'm up to it. It is changing all the time, and having two set would make the job impossible for one man trying to have a life off the net also.
However, for now you just miiiiiiiiight want to try out http://old.calvin-and-hobbes.org/
But hey, don't tell anyone! The traffic should go to the new site so we can get the volume up on that one, right?

Links
Just curious, when the links page returns, would you give it its own title in the sidebar or would it come up under information or something?
